Raphael Metrop

Raphaël Metrop, PharmD, is a French citizen living in Lyon (France), who has international experience in corporate and business development, mainly acquired in a startup environment, in close collaboration with CEOs and VCs.

He is the Founder of PhaRMRapH S.A.S., a consulting agency supporting biotech and pharma companies reaching their business and corporate development objectives. He is also the co-Founder and CEO of Sowhat, an Open Finance tech startup, and a Guest Lecturer at the University of Lyon.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Raphaël was leading for 6 years – as a Partner – the Transaction Advisory group of US-based Alira Health and running for his clients cross-border capital raise, M&A, licensing and strategic partnership projects.

Raphaël built his experience from 2012 to 2018 as the Head of Corporate Business Development of Fab’entech and as the Corporate Business Development and Intellectual Property Manager of Imaxio, now known as Osivax. He also used to advise Pradeyrol Développement, a French family office actively investing in the biotech sector, as well as Uruguay XXI, the investment promotion agency of Uruguay, led by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Raphaël graduated from the University of Lyon with a Pharmaceutical Doctorate, from the IMIS Institute (France) with a Masters Degree in Marketing and Management, and from HEC Paris Executive with an International Certificate in Corporate Finance.

He also followed several courses from EM Lyon Business School (Intellectual Property), Bocconi University (Private Equity and Venture Capital), France Invest (M&A Expertise, Rights and Responsibilities of Executives and Board Members), the Honk Kong University of Science and Technology (Finance Industry Transformation and Regulation) and the University of Colorado (Digital Advertising).
