Clara Coolen

As a child, I loved drawing and crafting about anything. I started taking painting classes at the age of seven and that passion for visual expression just kept growing from then.

I knew from my early teen years that I was meant for an artistic career and soon got interested in Graphic Design. I took Visual Arts classes in High School from which I graduated with an upper second class Honours Scientific Baccalauréat. During those years I also experimented with Ceramic, especially with porcelain, which I still have a particular affection for.

I then got a Graphic Design Bachelor Degree in 2015 and an Artistic Direction Master Degree in 2017, rated excellent, from highly ranked ESAG Penninghen in Paris. My studies allowed me to develop a large set of skills in most visuals domain, from video making to advertising, and brought on a vivid curiosity and interest for Editorial Design and Typography.

I am a born and raised Parisian, I also lived in Manchester for over half a year where I had the chance to study at the University of Salford.

Music lover, I enjoy the complexity of polyrhythms and virtuosity of highly skilled musicians ; I also played drums for ten years, mostly Jazz and Bossa. I designed a few freelance projects for musicians and am looking forward to keep combining both in future projects.
