Architecture design of the application of Estate Succession Management

DESCRIPTION:

Design of the FX hedging solution for the FX desk in Brazil in order to replace the existing one.

Implementation of a new Front-to-Back solution as the as-is became obsolete.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Participate to the workshops to analyze the as-is system: application mapping.

Business requirements analysis and backlog writing:

o FO needs for commodity traders and FX traders:

 Price formation (in USD) to be available for commodity traders in order to bid commodities to local producers (in BRL)

 Ability to interpolate rates (BRL and USD) using different calculus conventions:

• Calendar basis for USD vs. Net business days basis for BRL,

• Daily payment for USD (linear interpolation of yearly rate) vs. Continuous payment for BRL (exponential interpolation of yearly rate).

 Ask for hedge request continuously upon each validated commodity trade.

o MO-BO needs:

 Hedge Accounting adapted to local processes (Designed by PWC):

• OCI (Other Comprehensive Income) of hedges,

• Accounting classification (Cash Flow Hedge or Fair Value Hedge),

• Hedge Efficiency management,

• Hedge pooling acceptance (validated by PWC).

 Clearing with broker statements,

 Payments using the existing SAP system,

 Treasury management (Trading, CAPEX and OPEX),

o Local Compliance:

 Each FX deal must be registered to the Brazilian Central Bank

Solution design:

o FO: In house application developed on Power Apps and fed by Reuters (Refinitiv),

o MO-BO: Quantum (FIS editor) application for hedge accounting and payment instructions (dumped afterward into the local accounting and payment system under SAP).

Roadmap: streams, epics, milestones (steerco, releases) and critical path (technical constraints),

RACI: Global and local roles and availabilities; Team organization.

Backlog prioritization, Workload and ROI estimate, Application mapping,
