Pour manager le temps de travail entre leur différents volontaires, l'association RND4IMPACT avait recours à un système de "check-in/check-out" papier.

Avec la pandémie de Covid-19, ils ont été forcés de passer au télé-travail. Je les ai aidé à assurer la transition en implémentant une plateforme Web responsive où les utilisateurs peuvent logger leurs heures. Pour identifier les utilisateurs, l'association avait besoin d'une authentification basée sur un scan de documents d'identité officiels. En se connectant à l'API de DocuSign, j'ai pu implémenter cette fonctionnalité peu commune, ainsi qu'une fonctionnalité de signature électronique du contrat de travail pour le volontaire.

With some friends, we founded a startup on this app. As the only engineer in the team, I had the entire responsibility of choosing the right technologies for this project. My goal was to build an app easy to iterate on and maintain, especially if I am alone when developing the project. The project is a news app, technically similar to TikTok, where users can upload videos. I especially had to deal with the problem of real-time video processing on the backend. This creates a lot of constraints of distributed computing and it can consume a lot of resources. The app was built with Ionic and Angular. The back-end API is made of Node.js, with an Express server. I used Docker on the production to make continuous integration faster. The app is now extremely flexible, does not depend on any proprietary technology, and can be deployed on a new server, with data backup and secure client communication in under 10 minutes.
