(1) Responsible for developing and managing the technical robustness, competency & operational procedures of the UK Government endorsed Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) ‐ Technical Housing Standard (towards zero carbon) in accordance with UKAS accreditation. Responsible for stakeholder engagement across the housing sector including Govt. depts. such as planning and regs. Oversaw collection and management of DCLG statistics & UKAS accredited sub‐licensee contracts, including their technical & certification operations. (2) More generally, gained significant experience and expertise managing a team and developing technical criteria, providing updates and standardising the measurement of a buildings overall environmental and social performance against a set of established benchmarks, covering 9 key areas and 34 sub-issues. Weighted categories within the technical standard tackled reducing carbon emissions towards net zero, low impact design, adaptation to climate change, ecological value, biodiversity protection and social issues. (3) Represented BRE Global and won the introduction of a new Technical Housing Standard: A new nationally described 'Minimum Space Standard' during a technical working group at the Dept. of Communities & Local Government (DCLG) in Westminster, against the Housing Lobby (4) Gained experience presenting QSAND framework & tool (Quantifying Sustainability in the Aftermath of a Natural Disaster), developed for the Red Cross at the United Nations, Palais de Nations in Geneva.
