Ilya Rachlis

I worked on an urban photography project developed in collaboration with architects and public institutions in Jerusalem. The project focused on documenting the relationship between people, architecture, and the changing urban environment. As part of this work, I created and designed a photobook for the Jerusalem Municipality, combining documentary photography with visual storytelling. The project required close communication with cultural and municipal organizations, as well as research into the city’s social and architectural landscape. Through photography, editing, and sequencing, I helped present a visual narrative of Jerusalem’s urban identity, highlighting both historical layers and contemporary transformations within the city’s public spaces and communities.

I worked as a video editor on raw footage for the film project DAU, assisting in the organization, selection, and editing of large amounts of audiovisual material during production. My role included reviewing footage, preparing sequences, and supporting the post-production workflow in collaboration with the creative team. The project demanded strong attention to detail, technical editing skills, and the ability to work within an experimental cinematic environment. Through this experience, I developed a deeper understanding of narrative structure, visual rhythm, and archival management while contributing to a complex international film production known for its immersive and unconventional artistic approach.

I created and edited video content for a Facebook page focused on short-form social media videos with an audience of more than 15 million followers. My work included editing, pacing, visual storytelling, and adapting content for high-engagement performance on digital platforms. I collaborated with content teams to develop videos aligned with the page’s tone, audience expectations, and viral trends. The role required fast turnaround, strong attention to audience retention metrics, and understanding of social media algorithms. Through this experience, I improved my skills in digital editing, online storytelling, and producing engaging content for large-scale international audiences across social media platforms.
