I am a passionate writer, researcher, and blogger. I have been writing blogs, reports, research papers and articles on various political, economic and social issues and commercial products for the past seven years. I am an accomplished graduate of a BA Honours degree in Latin American Studies and International Development.
For the past five years, I have been a Communications and Advocacy Officer working for an International Women's Rights NGO, the World YWCA in Geneva, Switzerland. I have participated in the United Nations conventions, global advocacy platforms and regional meetings related to peace with justice, meeting with human rights advocates, campaigners, networks and government representatives to diligently to demand, claim and ensure that the new development agenda be inclusive of the voices of the world’s young women, among those most vulnerable to poverty, hunger, conflict, occupation and poor health outcomes.
Recently, in my role as a communications officer, I initiated and lead the NoXcuses Campaign – which is a global campaign to end violence against women. I demonstrated the ability to conceptualize, implement and deliver a global advocacy campaign that engages the YWCA movement of 120 countries with 25 million members and our partners.
My key strengths are time management, planning, advocacy, policy briefs, position papers, presentations and prioritizing workload. Working with social media, creating blogs, website development, brand management, and online community platforms, I have managed communication projects and overseen small teams.
